In the MMA classes, we focus on being complete fighters, we are not a BJJ school and we do not wear traditional Gi’s as are worn in BJJ schools we are an MMA school and train as if were going to fight. You will learn the ground game, the standup game, the clinch, and will learn to push yourself physically and mentally to your limit during your times in the gym. We will do tons of Circuit work which will help you tremendously with cardio and stamina as well as your strength and conditioning, these circuits are designed to improve your overall skill level and target each part of the body making it stronger and faster, they are a mixture of aerobic and anaerobic exercises that promote fat loss as well as promoting muscle growth. Our Adult classes include training in Gi and No-gi grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We also have Stand-up/MMA Classes and Cage Cardio Blast Classes in our Gulf Shores/Foley gym. Class includes an extensive warm up with a conditioning regimen that increase flexibility, strength and cardiovascular fitness in a way unique to improving defense techniques. For interested students, there is a belt-promotion system based on time in training and demonstration of advancement in skills following the traditional martial arts. Learning is in a structured technical fashion and is followed by sessions where students work on technique in an open-mat style session in a friendly non-combative manner.

The Academy kids program offers a disciplined yet enjoyable environment for children to learn the martial arts. They have a combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Stand-up/MMA. Children are able to advance through a belt system program as they learn various components of traditional martial arts integrated in a family friendly setting. Parents are able to observe first hand the development process and are encouraged to attend the adult sessions too and join the fun!

We give a one week free class and if you dont learn something new in that week we will give you money back. So far, we have not come across that situation and I doubt we will anytime soon. 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu was created by Eddie Bravo under the tutelage of Jean Jacques Machado. It is a unique style of no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which is designed to work both inside the cage and in grappling competition. The idea behind the system is to have an unorthodox style which could keep an opponent under constant control and in the threat of danger. The beginnings of the 10th Planet system were put to the test in Abu Dhabi in 2003 and facilitated Eddie Bravo’s victory over long time reigning champion Royler Gracie. Following that victory, Eddie opened his own school to further the system.

What separates 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu from some other styles is its innovation and evolution. Some of the techniques, like the Rubber Guard, the Twister, and the Lock-Down have taken the Jiu Jitsu community by storm because of their originality and effectiveness. The techniques are often so different that opponents do not know how to react to them and they leave the practitioner in a unique position to execute with little to no defense from their opponent. Moreover, the beauty of the system does not stop there: Eddie and his students are constantly evolving new moves and counters to old moves in order to keep the style relevant and functioning. So, where other systems have a tendency to cease growth, 10th Planet finds itself in a situation where its entire focus is to continue its own growth.

Today, the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu headquarters is housed inside of the Legends Gym in Hollywood. The head instructor is Eddie Bravo. If you have never done Jiu Jitsu before, Brandon can show you step by step what to do in each position and the other students are more than willing to help as well! If you are an experienced Jiu Jitsu practitioner, perhaps Brandon can help you add some new elements to your game.
