At Refuge Martial Arts we use some of the latest MMA curriculum to include an action packed training regiment consisting of techniques from John Hackleman’s (Chuck “The IceMan” Lidell’s Trainer) The Pit Curriculum, Dan Henderson’s Fight Quest Curriculum, Randy Couture’s Xtreme Couture Curriculum, and much more. MMA is incorporated into each of our adult classes, and is taught in depth at our weekly Fight Clinics.

Our programs teach the basics leading to a strong foundation, and further detailed training. They will enhance your physical abilities, and maximize your self defense skills. Men, women, and children alike will discover more about themselves, and their potential through the martial arts faster than they ever could in today’s society. We have seen remarkable results in those who have participated in our programs. Such results include enhanced self confidence, improved social skills, disciplined behavior, advanced school and work ethic, and much more.

Chief Instructor Justin Williams has been training in the martial arts for over 9 years. Trained 3 with Mr. Dane Anglin (ITF), 1 with Master Carl Chaffin (WTF), 2 with Mr. Steve Briggs (ITA), 1 with Mr. Jeff House & Master Steve Place (NPTA), and has been training under the direction of Grand Masters Kang Rhee (WBBB), Richard Leasure (AMO), & Mike Lewis (KFCI) since 2007. He has also trained with “The Undefeated World Kickboxing Champ Bill Superfoot Wallace”, Rener Gracie Grandson of Helio Gracie the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and many other great martial arts champions. Mr. Williams has also studied Military Close Combat Fighting under U.S. Army Capt. Chris Pizzo in 2008. He also has a diploma in nursing, a degree in Theology, and a certificate from the Bentonville Police Academy. He also is the Pastor of the Refuge, and is great with children of all ages.

Refuge Martial Arts is an outreach ministry in partnership with New Life Fellowship Church in Pea Ridge Arkansas, and North Lake Church Smithville, Missouri. Currently, Refuge Martial Arts NWA holds classes in Pea Ridge, Arkansas; Refuge Martial Arts KC holds classes by invitation only.

Chief Instructor L. M. Jackson is a former law enforcement professional and task manager for several federal counter-terrorism projects with over 25 years of public service. He formerly served as chief defensive tactics instructor for the Arkansas Dept. of Corrections. In 1997, Mr. Jackson was awarded the prestigious Silver Star for Bravery by the American Police Hall of Fame. Mr. Jackson is also a 40+ year martial arts practioner. He began his training at the age of 10 in GoJu Ryu under Mr. Eldon Conroy. He later trained with William Nickens (Shotokan) and GoJu Shin Jutsu stylist and noted Judo coach, Mark Tripp.

Mr. Jackson holds internationally recognized Black Belt rank in the following arts: GoJu Ryu Karate Do, Ju-Jitsu, and Kodokan Judo. Rank Certification and/or validation issued by The United States Martial Arts Association, the United States Martial Arts Federation, the International Traditional Kodokan Judo Association, American Karate Association, and the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation.

Mr. Jackson personally supervises all training, including Junior, Adult, and Senior classes. Special classes are available for Law Enforcement and Correctional personnel.

We are excited to announce ALLSTARMMA has day and night classes for kids of all ages! We take the training of children very serious at ALLSTARMMA and strive to teach your child respect, honesty, and control. We teach your child how to defend themselves. When we all agree that your child is ready to move into the competitive end of martial arts, we teach your child how to compete and fight in mixed martial arts. Boxers start learning how to box as young as 5 years old. So we have developed a program to nurture your childs ability into becoming a mixed martial artist in the purist form. We have day time and nightime classes to fit your busy schedule. You can drop your child off and know they are safe, or stay and observe the classes in our seating area. The ALLSTARMMA FIGHT TEAM is the elite fighter division of our gym. These fighters are the core of the gym, and can be observed training nightly.

World Brazilian JiuJitsu Association is located at Top Notch Training Center in Wynne.

Master Lee then set his sights on the world and started fighting internationally in Italy, Japan, China, Mexico, Thailand, and the United States.  Next Lee started mastering MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and in 1996 took his first World Championship in Mexico City. He took more World Championships in the United States and Italy.   He started training other athletes as the San-su, kickboxing, and Wrestling coach for the South Korean national team where he helped to develop three gold and two bronze medal Olympians. One of these students, Kim Gujing is a team coach for the South Korean 2008 Olympic team. Now Master Lee’s focus is on training champions here at Ahrang Martial Arts School.

Our classes are focused on the individual students involved and goals for each student are age appropriate, leading to improved performance not only in Judo but also in life. Many of the parents of our students notice increased attention span, improved concentration and, of course, improved conditioning of the student. The goals for adults are improved conditioning, flexibility, self confidence and self awareness, and obtaining a functional system of self defense in a fun, cooperative setting.

Master Danny Dring is the owner and founder of Living Defense Martial Arts. Master Dring’s foresight of the evolution of Martial Arts led him to “cross training” before “cross training” became the norm. It was the forward thinking of Master Dring that led to the evolution of Danny Dring’s Taekwondo Plus into Living Defense Martial Arts. Starting with a Taekwondo base, Master Dring began cross training early in his martial arts career with Boxing, Muay Thai and Kali & Escrima; his quest for knowledge eventually led him to Weeping Style Jujutsu, and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

Master Dring has overcome a crippling hip injury to transform a small Arkansas karate school into a Martial Arts Academy respected around the world. With over 25 years experience in the Martial Arts and hundreds of awards as a competitor and trainer, Mr. Dring is truly a “Master of the Martial Arts.”
