James “the Genius” Wohlmacher, Head Instructor, is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt under Rylan Lizares and the head instructor at Gracie Technics Hillsboro. He has been training in the “gentle art” for over Eight years and has competed and won the Oregon Open, Naga Hawaii, and Oregon Sub League. Prior to Gracie Technics Hillsboro, James was training at the Newbreed Academy under the guidance of Eben Kaneshiro. James was the head instructor at the Oregon Pound in Corvallis from 2006-2007. James received his purple belt in 2006.

We are the new home of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the Bridgeport Area! The all new Boom Martial Arts School offers Children’s Karate Classes as well as adult Kenpo Karate classes, Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu and MMA training! Kid’s can start learning Karate at age 4 with Tiny Tigers. Junior Karate starts at age 7. Adult memberships include Karate, Kickboxing , Jiu Jitsu and MMA training (+all other group exercise classes).

Head Instructor Greg Walker started martial arts when he was 6 years old. After high school he opened his own martial arts school and holds a 2nd degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate. He also holds belts in Tien Tae Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

All Zanshin Dojo instructors are extensively cross-trained with a core curriculum that emphasizes Jujitsu and striking. Students will train in striking techniques using various heavy bags, focus mitts, sparring drills and grappling dummies (for striking on the ground). Throws and takedowns include both wrestling-style takedowns and judo throws. Mat work consists of submission wrestling and self-defense ground tactics. The focus is on application, and while classical techniques are studied in their traditional form, further intensity is devoted to practical use.

Dave Hagen is a Current Licensed MMA referee in Oregon, Colorado and Mohegan Sun, Idaho. He referees and judges for UFC, WEC, Former PRIDE, Former IFL, Strikeforce, KOTC and most NW local shows. He has been training as a Kickboxer, Muay Thai fighter, BJJ practitioner, Boxer and MMA fighter for 26 years. Dave has coached and cornered Randy Couture, Nate Quarry, Chris Leben, Chris Wilson, Evan Tanner and many others from high profile shows. He also boasts a level IV combatives certificate from the US Army Combatives program. This program specializes in Weapons, H2H combat using weapons, Muay Thai, BJJ, Wrestling, Sambo, and Boxing. This training lends itself well to Police, fire and military personnel.
