Coyote Combat Sports started in the basement of the Veterans Resource Center in Vermillion and grew into our current location. We now offer a fully equipped gym complete with a full sized boxing ring, MMA caging, 8 heavy bags and a large mirrored wall to help fine tune your skills. We over expert training in MMA including experience coaching in grappling, boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Our gym is open daily after 6pm and is available for special training sessions outside of team training hours with appointment.

The MMA Factory is a great way to learn the fundamentals of Mixed Martial Arts. From basic boxing striking to Muay-Thai kickboxing, to submission holds and Jiu-Jitsu, this is a great way to learn confidence, skill, or simply to kick off your mixed martial arts career. With two instructors teaching, we will separate from the beginners, allowing each member to learn at their own level. If you want the whole “cage fighter” experience, this class is for you.

Since 1964, the Jukite Jujitsu style has become synonymous with excellence in the martial arts in the midwest.  Created by Shihan Claude Woodsen (10th Dan), the Jukite style is designed as a comprehensive system of self-defense and martial arts.  In 1997 Master Julio “Mutch” Usera took that excellence one step farther, founding Dynamic Martial Arts in Rapid City.

We teach the traditional combination of Karate, Judo and Aikido techniques. Karate focuses on strong punches and kicks, and coordination of attack. Judo teaches you to fall, roll, and use leverage to your advantage. Aikido emphasizes redirection of attack, joint locks, and pressure point control. Our style of Ju-Jitsu dates back to the time of the Samurai, the warrior class in Japan. Ju-Jitsu is the father of many styles of martial arts. Judo and Aikido developed specifically from Ju-Jitsu.

Sensei Claude Woodson, who came to the Black Hills through the military, began teaching Ju-Jitsu here in the late 1960’s at the YMCA. Through his dedication to the art he learned under an oriental master while growing up in Chicago, he passed his skills along to a few dedicated students.

Sensei Doug Langworthy is the 5th generation black belt as a result of Sensei Woodson’s teaching, and has actively studied and taught the martial arts for the last 25 years. Rushmore Ju-Jitsu has been successfully operating for the last 4 years, and now has approximately 75 students between the children and adult classes.

Dynamic Martial Arts has been in the Rapid City area for over 45 years, and was first located at the Rapid City YMCA since 1964. Today, Owner and Chief Instructor Josh Usera, 4th Degree Black Belt, has relocated DMA to downtown Rapid City. DMA also has several affiliated dojos located in South Dakota, Montana and Colorado.
