We pride ourselves in having a great team environment. Here at TBJJA, all students are treated the same. We prepare our students for self defense, competition, and fitness. Our class is taught by Ray Casias, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion who is dedicated to teaching our kids to be productive members of the community before making them future world champions.

We have a Fun Family Atmosphere and an exciting program for Adults at any level and TaeKwonDo is a great way to keep the Mind and Body in top form. Scott and Ruth Evers are the owners of Evers’ TaeKwonDo & Jiu-Jitsu Academy and are Certified Instructors in the International TaeKwonDo Alliance.

Kickboxing and MMA instructor Matt Violette is a Black Belt in Shotokan under Master Sensei and 6th dan Pete Threet. Matt also holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do under 5th dan Johnny Loftis. Matt completed in the Regional Sport Karate Circuit and was known as one of the Top fighters in a 5 State Region. Matt really turns up the pace, focusing on intense cardio exercises, and relentless, never give up, no nonsense approach to fighting.

Jiu Jitsu instructor Michael Bartlett has more than 10 years of martial arts experience. He holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do under Jack Scott. Michael has had a lot of success competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournaments. Michael teachs real life jiu jitsu that works both for self-defence and MMA. Michael focuses mainly on 10th planet jiu jitsu techniques, as well as, other high level no-gi techniques. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with students and MMA competitors wanting to improve their skills.

For the first six months of Guy’s training with Master Shin, the fledgling school gave Master Ogburn the opportunity for private daily lessons. The deep seeded tradional training they began in October 1977, has developed into a life long dedication to each other and the arts they love, and desire to share with those around them. They have traveled around the world in unity, practicing their arts together. This knowledge and philosophy have truly touched the lives of many, and they continually strive to help those in need. Whether these needs are physical, mental, or Biblical. Under this expert instruction students strive toward self improvement and ways to live a more productive and satisfying life. Master Bunny Hawkersmith has been in martial arts now for over 36 years, training in various styles of martial arts and holding a 6th degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. Bunny has taught in the same location for 30 years and his students have an impressive winning record in full contact point, forms, and MMA cage fighting.  Bunny is also the president of United Fighters Alliance, which attracts fighters from far and wide. Fighters from surrounding counties travel to train at my facility on a regular basis.

Jiu Jitsu Nation, LLC was started April 2010. It is owned by Cliff Fonseca and his wife Maggie, who is also working as an RN. Coach Cliff Fonseca started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under 6th degree black belt Luiz Palhares. Professor Palhares is a Rickson Gracie Blackbelt. Mr. Fonseca took his training seriously from the beginning, dedicating no less than 16 hours a week to training and teaching even as a whitebelt. With an uncanny ability to remember details and an already dominant presence in competitions, Professor Palhares awarded Mr. Fonseca his blue belt in less than 60 days. Mr. Fonseca won world and national titles and traveled all over the U.S as a blue belt, training with a long list of BJJ legends: Carlos Gracie Jr., Carlson Gracie, Rigan Machado, and Renzo Gracie, to name a few. As a purple belt, Mr. Fonseca fought several-time Pan Am blackbelt and world champion Roberto Traven; the match went all ten minutes with no points scored. Losing by decision, Mr. Fonseca received a standing ovation; he was disappointed, as his next match would have been Forrest Griffin. Cliff Fonseca winning 2008 Pan American Championships!

Mr. Fonseca also won world and national titles as a purple belt. In 2008, Mr. Fonseca won the Pan American World Championship. Mr. Fonseca again won world and national titles along with many expert invitationals and super fights as a brown belt. In 2009, Mr. Fonseca received his blackbelt from Shawn Hammonds/Lloyd Irvin. Mr. Fonseca has also trained with Jiu Jitsu greats: P.J. Penn, Renato “Charato” Verissimo, Eddie Bravo, Royce Gracie, Lloyd Irvin, Shawn Hammonds, Ray Casius, Rob Kahn, Helio Seneca, and many more. Mr. Fonseca has been teaching law enforcement, military, kids and adults for 10 years.

Owner/Master Instructor, Shihan/Guro Terry Pollard is an 8th Degree Black Belt. Terry has been practicing martial arts since the 1980’s. He has trained in styles such as White Eyebrow Kung-Fu, Wing Chun, Free Style Karate, Ju jitsu, Pambuan Arnis, Sayoc Kali, Weapons training and more. Master Pollard currently holds the rank of 8th Degree Black Belt. He also holds the rank of Guro in Sayoc Kali and recognized by Pambuan Arnis International, Independent Karate Schools of America and American Tiger Karate Schools.
