Champions Boxing Gym in Birmingham is closed, but you can still train with Curt McCune, a licensed professional boxing trainer and Level II Coach with USA Boxing, in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the owner of Champions Boxing Gym in Birmingham, Alabama for eight years before getting married again and relocating to Montgomery, Alabama in 2008. Curt is a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and is currently a Probation/Parole Officer for the State of Alabama.

Curt is one of the most respected and sought after coaches in the southeastern United States and has over 25-years in the sport, both as a competitor and a coach. Curt trained in California and Las Vegas with the “real deals” of boxing and can train you the way boxers are trained there: with “fluid skill.” He has trained over 20 state and regional champions. Brad Ginn, one of Curt’s most feared amateur boxers, won a decision over 2009 Olympian Deontay Wilder in 2006.

Curt, his boxers and Champions Boxing Gym were frequently featured in local news stories, in print, on TV and radio.
