The Academy of Mixed Martial Science (formerly the West Side Martial Arts Club) provides quality MMA training, including Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Vale Tudo, Meditation, and Competition-Level Fitness, as well as fighter management for those interested in pursuing competitive and/or professional MMA fighting. WSMAC West LA serves the Westside, including Santa Monica, UCLA, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Culver City, and the greater Los Angeles area.
AMMS is an MMA training center and fight school, represented by its members and trainers. More than merely a facility to exercise and throw punches, we teach our members and teammates to realize they have become part of a culture: Muay Thai, an ancient art of war dating back thousands of years, as well as the centuries-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, are combative arts rooted in tradition, culture, and honor. By becoming part of these arts, our members are building on a tradition of strength and wisdom, becoming part of the lineage, and so not just building strength in muscles, but also in character and spirit. This is the true strength of the warrior and what will ultimately propel any person beyond his opponent—be it a man, an obstacle, or an internal struggle.
AMMS was founded as the West Side Martial Arts Club by Coach Jeremy Pollack in the Summer of 2005. It was then established in Boulder, Colorado as well in Fall 2006, now called the Serial Boxe Fight Team. Coach Jeremy reopened the West Los Angeles location once again in October 2007. Coach Juan “Tito” Lozada began the Gardena/South Bay Location in March 2009.
