Founded in 1989 by Ercivan, Amsterdam Gym in Oakland, California, is one of the first authentic Muay Thai training camps in America. The techniques we train fighters in are the same used by the Dutch who have been training in Muay Thai since the 70’s. Amsterdam Gym trainers have produced hundreds of amateur fighters, pro fighters and instructors.
We offer pad/bag training in Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Boxing. In addition, we offer Mixed Martial Arts, Street Defense and Firearms training by qualified law enforcement/ military personel. Our street defense classes are reality based keeping in mind that on the streets there are no rules, padded gloves, or referees to stop a fight.
