L.A. Budo/Mile High Karate, located in Manhattan Beach, California, offers both ancient traditions with modern applications, as we pride ourselves in providing the most effective programs in self-defense and fitness with instruction for kids and adults in Karate and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Whether you are a complete novice, a recreational martial artist or a black belt, L.A. Budo Mile High Karate has a program, the expertise and facilities to help you attain your goals!

Our Thai Boxing program is the total fitness package combining our unique blend of power punching and power kicking, along with extensive calisthenics, strength, conditioning and endurance training, that will allow you to get into the best shape of you life! Every class you will have an excellent cardiovascular workout, burning off up to 800 calories an hour. The result is a tremendous increase in energy, giving you what you need to last all day long.

Every beginning level class you will go through a basic training and conditioning workout. You will Get Fit without Getting Hit. Learn the science and mechanics of punching and kicking, footwork, head movement, offense and defense — all the tools needed for a complete full body workout. Every thing you learn can also be used in almost all self-defense situations.

We often hear about students who are only interested in getting into shape being pressured to compete. That will never happen at L.A. Budo Mile High Karate. We feel that competition is healthy and a good way to take your goals to the next level, but it is not required to become a complete martial artist. Being part of a winning team does not mean you need to compete.
