Small but, great place to learn BJJ, friendly to begginers.. Mainly focused on BJJ, but also has MMA class.
Mike is a fantastic instructor. You should definitely try a class with him.
Having trained at Tomacelli Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a while now, I have come to realize what an incredible environment has been created here. Mike is a truly gifted instructor who has a very easily understood teaching style which allows martial artists of all skill levels to grow and improve with every training session. You will not be shown a chart on your first day that tells you how many classes you must attend to be promoted to the next belt level. Your skills will be evaluated by mike himself on a day to day basis since he teaches and trains alongside us in every class. He teaches techniques in chains, which allows his students a rare chance to identify weaknesses and strengths not only in the execution of submissions, but also in the transitions between them. This school is much more than just a business. We often plan weekend “survival trips” and take whoever wants to go. We hike deep into the san bernardino mountains (outside cellular coverage areas) with no tents, sleeping bags, blankets or pillows. These trips have created a team environment within our school that I have yet to find anywhere else. The school is more than a business. It’s a family.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” -Mark Twain
Mike is one of the best instructors I have ever seen.
