My J.K.D. Street Fighting Academy is a family run school that has been in operation since 2001. Self discipline, self confidence, respect, individuality, and creative freedom are the back bone of our facility. Located in Petaluma, California, we offer instruction in Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Mixed Martial Arts, and Self-defense.

We have five qualities that make us a bit different than your normal martial arts school.

* We wear shoes at all times when we train- Shoes can be weapons
* Have no uniforms- Uniforms are unpractical in the modern world. Really, when was the last time you left your house in a bath robe, paints, no shoes and a belt?
* We practice no forms- Classical forms dull your creativity, condition and render frozen your sense of freedom. You no longer “be” but merely “do”
* Have no ranking/belt system- Belt systems give a false sense of confidence and promotes egoism. Belts are for holding up your pants

During your training with us, you will be exposed to many different martial arts and training methods. Each style is unique, and was developed under different environments, physical makeup and limitations of the people, necessity, and cultural perimeters. You should naturally choose those that fit your body type, training time, personality, life experience, etc. Your preference for a certain method does not make it any better then the next. Regardless weather the art is sport or combat orientated, it’s important to have an open mind, so you can really appreciate what that culture/art has to offer you. Each is valid in it’s own right. Each art gives you a different piece of the puzzle (self preservation).

THIS SCHOOL IS MORE CONCERNED WITH TRAINING A PERSON TO BE A FREE THINKING, CREATIVE INDIVIDUAL, INSTEAD OF A CARBON COPY OF A STYLE OR SOME GRAND MASTER THAT SAYS DO THIS, THEN THIS, AND THEN THIS. STYLES DICTATE THE WAY YOU PHYSICALLY MOVE. WHILE ART IS THE AMOUNT OF INDIVIDUALITY AND PERSONEL CREATIVETY YOU PUT IN TO THE STYLE.
