I have trained at other Boxing and Muay Thai gyms in San Diego, as well as some excellent Jiu Jitsu schools like Fabio Santos. While they all have their strengths/weaknesses, The Arena is the best pure MMA gym yet to hit San Diego. It is DEFINITELY not for some people for sure, since they don't have cardio boxing, kickboxing, etc, but that's not what I'm personally into. I want hard core no gi jiu jitsu and realistic MMA classes by instructors who know what they are doing, but I don't want attitude from these instructors let alone the students. That is exactly what The Arena delivers. Definitely my new favorite gym in town. I walked into the Pro Team practice the other day and I see Diego Sanchez, Xande Ribeiro, Fabrico Morango, Joe Duarte, Rick Slaton, Pat Speight and a bunch of others! The commercial MMA classes also have some great instructors like Kru Mark for Muay Thai and Rani Yahya for Jiu Jitsu. Also going to try some boxing classes.
