This is a great gym. High quality. No brown belts leading these classes. The owner is the instructor for every class. For example: we only had 2 guys enter the state tournament this month, held by another gym. Both students took 3rd place. Not bad for its first year. This is head over heals better than any other new school in the area. Next year Waza BJJ should have a sweep of trophies. :P Cya there.

Waza BJJ is a great facility to learn the art. the Instructor Derek is a great teacher. this gym has great members who are always encourging to each other. Derek focus more on teaching the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rather than MMA & breeding knuckheads, which nowaday most gyms nowadays do. They have great kids prog also which focus on the discipline and respecting the art. Definalty the place to enroll ur kids if u wanna start them with some kinda of self defense lessons. this is also a great art to keep u in shape. great cardio workout. Check it out, trust me u wont be disappointed.

What a classy gym, seriously. Derek DiManno is a class act that owns the gym and instructs every class. He is so receptive to questions that it is practically like having a private instructor for every class. The people there are welcoming which is a treat because I have been to other gyms that are full of muscle heads and mat bullies, this is NOT one of those places. When I first signed up I was accepted with open arms. Everyone here is all about helping each other. The live rolling sessions are fantastic with a large emphasis on technique. The facility is very clean which I have seen other places severely lack on. Stop by and talk to Derek and see for yourself, you will be happy you did.

I have been studying at Waza Jiu Jitsu for almost a year now, and I all I can really say is that I’m hooked on Jiu Jitsu! Whether you just want to learn something new or you want to get in better shape (I’ve lost 60 pounds myself) this is the place for you. From day one the students here are happy to see you every time you show up and encourage you every step of the way, But the main reason that I am having this much fun learning is because of Owner/Instrutor Derek DiManno. Not only does he have a vast knowledge of BJJ, but he teaches in a way that you can understand, whether if it’s your first class or you have been there for a year… Just trust me and give it a week, I know you get hooked as well!
