Boise Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness

Boise Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness was founded to address the need for a practical self-defense system here in the Treasure Valley. Tom Supnet started his Jiu-Jitsu training in 1994 after watching the first Ultimate Fighting Championship. His first year was under Lowell Anderson, a former instructor for Rorion Gracie, one of the original founders of the UFC and the person responsible for bringing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the United States. Tom switched over to the No-Gi style of Jiu-Jitsu a year later under Craig Kukuk and started teaching in Boise, Idaho in 2001. Craig Kukuk was the first American to recieve a Black Belt from the infamous Gracie Family. After two years assisting in Mr Kukuk’s classes, he decided to stop teaching so it was time for me to merge my passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with my favorite sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Boise Jiu-Jitsu was opened to develop a No-Gi “Reality Tested” style that continually grows through hard work and innovation. We know what works for sport Jiu-Jitsu and what works for Mixed Martial Arts. With all seriousness aside, it’s still a lot of fun!

You’re welcome to stop by any time to watch a class or sign up. It’s a fun, friendly environment and we accomodate any and all skill levels. You don’t have to be an athlete at this school, but if you inspire to reach a high level, we can take you there too.
