At Columbia BJJ in Columbia, Maryland, we have a variety of different classes to meet the needs of a variety of different students with different goals, and backgrounds. We specialize in teaching people with absolutely no experience in any martial art. We want beginners but those with experience are always welcome as well.

We are the only certified Rickson Gracie and Kron Gracie school on the entire East Coast. Unlike many BJJ schools whose focus is on competition, our focus is on teaching students realistic self-defense, building their confidence, discipline, self-esteem, and helping them to reach their own personal fitness/self-defense goals.

Mr. Naugle is the only official Rickson Gracie Representative on the East coast and currently holds the rank of Brown Belt in Rickson Gracie Jiu-jitsu. He has been training in the association since July of 1997. He has also trained with the following Rickson Gracie black belts; Rickson’s son Kron Gracie, Eric Silver, Brad Hatcher, Chris Saunders, Joe Diamond, Fabio Santos, Pedro Sauer, Rodrigo Vaghi, David terry, Henry Akins, Shane Rice and more.

Mr. Naugle has also trained with the following BJJ black belts outside the association; 6-time world champion Saulo Ribeiro, UFC hall of fame member Royce Gracie, and the most active MMA fighter of the Gracie family, Renzo Gracie. In addition to his BJJ brown belt, Mr. Naugle also holds the rank of 1st degree Black Belt in Judo, and a 1st degree black belt in Kickboxing/karate under Joe Lewis (he was one of Bruce Lee’s training partner) and he holds a first degree black belt in traditional Japanese Aiki-Ryu Ju-jitsu.

Mr. Naugle has been teaching martial arts since 1995 and has been a representative for Master Rickson Gracie since 2005. Mr. Naugle has trained in Judo, Kickboxing, boxing, Filipino stick and knife, traditional Japanese Ju-jitsu (Aiki-Ryu Ju-jitsu), Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Non-Classical Gung Fu and other martial arts. Today Mr. Naugle offers classes in Rickson Gracie Jiu-jitsu, No-Gi grappling, MMA, women’s self-defense, Kickbox Fitness/Cardio MMA, Judo, and private lessons.

Columbia BJJ is located at Krav Maga Maryland Monday through Friday. For Saturday Classes (No-gi, and MMA class), classes are held at Cross-Fit Diesel:
