Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Mississippi and Team Hopkins in Hattiesburg is committed to the effective teaching of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Our program is centered on Self-Defense and includes conditioning, technique and sparring. Our curriculum is designed to ease the student into the training regime and application of technique. We would also like to extend you an open invitation to come to the school and experience for yourself the most effective martial art… Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Allen Hopkins, Black Belt, is the Head Instructor and has been involved in Martial Arts for more than half his life. He has earned Black Belt and or Instructor status in several styles including Wing Chun, Kung Fu, Kali, Japanese Kempo, Tai Kung Fu and three styles of Japanese Ju Jitsu all before becoming envolved in Gracie Jiu Jitsu in 1991. Allen was the first affiliate of Prof. Pedro Sauer in 1992 and later moved to the Pedro Sauer headquaters in Salt Lake City in 1993 and lived there as the MGR. and Asst. Instructor until moving to Mississippi in 2005. Allen is the only certified Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt in Mississippi. He is also the only certified Instructor in Prof. Sauer TAC course for the military and Law enforcement in the country other than Prof. Sauer, who works in Quantico, Virginia, teaching the FBI.
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Mississippi is an affiliate member of the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association.

Streamlined technique that can only come from training with the best in the world. Five minutes in this school and you will know you’re in a true Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy learning technique and skill that will be recognized anywhere in the world. Anyone looking to learn a REAL defensive and (in a sports setting) offensive art should give this place a try. (If you’re new to Jiu-Jitsu don’t be fooled by the (Seemingly) simple positioning techniques you’ll learn in your first several classes. Remember, even the strongest fortresses on Earth must have a solid foundation. As I like to say: ‘No position: No Submission’).
