Sakura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is Dover, New Jersey’s source for the BEST Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training, Fitness, and MMA in the Morris County area! We are located at the Standridge Academy of Wrestling. All levels welcome. No experience needed. Classes 5 days a week. HUGE training area along with a parents waiting room with TV and Wi-Fi. Full weight room and sauna coming soon!
Head instructor Chris Civello, is a currently BJJ purple belt under George Sernack, Renzo Gracie Black Belt. Chris holds several medals from NAGA, Grapplers Quest, and the Renzo Gracie Invitational.

Sakura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a very reputable school in the north Jersey area. The Chief instructor Chris Civello was the first instructor I ever had the pleasure of taking a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class with at Real World Martial Arts over a year and a half ago. With almost 7 years experience and coming from an organization so close to the Gracie lineage, The Jiu Jitsu taught is some of the purest and most effective around. He puts 110% into everything he does, and it shows with his high quality instruction and passionate care to see his students progress. I am very thankful for everything Chris has taught me to this day, and I am at his school at least once a week to train with him. I highly recommend checking out Sakura Jiu Jitsu if you are in the Dover NJ area if you are interested in Jiu Jitsu, MMA, or kickboxing!
I can’t say enough good things about Sakura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! My 5-year-old son started lessons at another school, but it was quickly apparent to my husband and me that we were just paying for playtime. We made the switch to Sakura, and the very first lesson was filled with meaningful instruction! My son came home showing us the move he had learned to do if a stranger grabbed him by the wrist! And his skills just built from there! The kids class is taught by Coach Alex, whose background as a special education teacher means he is a wonderful, patient and fun instructor – perfect for children! My son can’t wait to go to class, he is laughing and having fun the entire way through the lesson, and he comes home showing everyone the moves he has learned. The parking is plentiful, the waiting room is spacious and I can watch the lesson through a window. There are separate changing rooms and bathrooms for men and women. Chief Instructor Chris Civello is building a quality business by putting the focus on technique. Really, I have an older child and have been through the experience of many different types of lessons and this experience at Sakura is by far the best. Sakura has everything I am looking for as a parent, and I would give it more than five stars if I could.
