Dragon Gate Martial Arts Academy is the finest school in the Oakdale, Long Island, New York area, dedicated to making your Martial Arts experience enjoyable and satisfying. Our instructors are the best. They have studied and trained for years to qualify as part of the Dragon Gate Martial Arts Academy Team, and their primary goal is to assist you in being the best you can be. Our carefully structured programs go far beyond punching, blocking, and kicking.

We Teach the Styles of Kempo Taekwondo and Kempo Tai-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Kick Boxing, and Submission Wrestling/Grappling. Kempo Taekwondo uses Chinese hand techniques and Korean kicking making this a very comprehensive striking art. Kempo Tai-jitsu uses joint locks, Take Downs, Pressure point attacks and Grappling techniques to subdue an attacker of any size. Mixed Martial Arts/kick boxing/submission Wrestling/Grappling is what you see today in the UFC. Although very effective in the cage for sport, it is not Self Defense. We do teach it to our students for self defense reasons.

Shihan Mike Iannone is a 6th degree Black belt in Kempo Taekwondo, Kempo Tai-jitsu and a First Degree Black Belt in Modern Farang Mu Sul. He’s also the Owner and Chief instructor for Drangon Gate. Shihan Iannone also created C.A.P.S ( Child Abduction Prevention System) And C.S.D.T.(Combat Self Defense Tactics) and Dragon Gate Combat Cardio.

We will help you acquire effective self-defense skills and provide you with a comprehensive, personal development program. It is our goal to raise the quality of life for all our students in every way possible. Although we honor Martial Arts traditions that go back centuries, we are dynamic and are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to enthuse and excite our students. At our Academy we also host various activities and events for everyone’s convenience and enjoyment.
