As one of the premier boxing clubs on the East Coast, Mendez Boxing in New York City trains professionals and amateurs, “white collar” boxers and individuals looking to get and stay in shape. All of our trainers are skilled professional and amateur trainers with over 30 years of fight experience. All clients will receive carefully supervised instruction.

In the past, you would mostly find only professional fighters training in a boxing gym; but that landscape has changed dramatically. Nowadays you are likely to also find fitness enthusiasts in a boxing gym, and not only men. Women, more and more, are enjoying the great conditioning benefits that boxing affords them. Children are also welcome to train with us.

Head Coach Francisco Mendez is known as an international boxer starting his professional career over 30 years ago in Mexico. His outstanding record includes fights in both Mexico and the United States. Upon retiring from his professional career, he studied intensely to become a professional trainer and has been training professional and amateur fighters in the United States for the past 16 years. Mendez’s long standing dedication to his fighters have led many of them to amateur wins and has started them on the path to professional careers. Mendez oversees every aspect of the gym and closely supervises the training of all clients.
