Gracie Barra Kingwood in Humble, Texas, is part of the Gracie Barra North Houston schools, which were founded by the “Robo Family”; Chad, Kathy, Hunter, Haili, and Hayden Robichaux. The emphasis is and always has been on building a family and a team through martial arts and Chad’s lifelong passion of Jiu-Jitsu. This outlook is shared with the entire Gracie Barra Team, and the feeling of family and team, along with a love for martial arts is always present in the training environment.
At Gracie Barra we strive to help students get the most out of their training. For students with consistency and dedication, our programs will become a life-style and students can readily enjoy all the benefits of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or the “Gentle Art”, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and Fitness. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint-locks and chokeholds also found in numerous other arts with or without ground fighting emphasis. The premise is that most of the advantage of a larger, stronger opponent comes from superior reach and more powerful strikes, both of which are somewhat negated when grappling on the ground.
