X-Factor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was started as an outreach for youth and a place where relationships could be formed through the practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We pride ourselves in providing our students with a great atmosphere to train in. We also go above and beyond to ensure that we are providing you with solid instruction in BJJ.

Coach Shannon Mathers has been training BJJ under Master Carlos Machado for the past 7 years and currently holds the rank of brown belt. Before that he trained in Japanese JJ for 5 years under Master Darryl Laroe. Coach Mathers has been actively involved in coaching the youth in Wylie and the surrounding areas for the past 11 years. Coach Mathers enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children.

The Gracie Combatives course that we offer is based on the 36 most important techniques of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Designed by Rorion Gracie specifically for the U.S. Army, the objective of this program is to give any student, man or woman, big or small, the most realistic effectiveness in the shortest period of time. The 36 techniques have been broken down into 23 different classes. No experience is necessary to participate in any of the 23 Gracie Combatives classes making it the ideal course for students with unpredictable or busy schedules.
