Welcome to Hybrid Academy of Martial Arts (HAMA) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Established in 2003 by Buck Grant, we are the leader in Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Grappling instruction and competition in the Mid-East Coast. We like to see people from all backgrounds interested in learning various forms of martial arts: Muay Thai Kickboxing, Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW), Judo, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)…whether for personal gain or potential competition, all are welcome.
At the Hybrid Academy, we focus on Fitness and Self Defense for adults. We do it in a physically and mentally challenging way so you achieve your goals without the boredom and frustration of traditional programs. And you’ll grow personally in the process as well. Regardless of your focus, fitness or self-defense, we have programs to fit your needs.

Over the past two years I have been training off an at Hybrid when I’ve been travelling the area. Besides being a huge school with an endless list of classes to choose from… the staff is great, the instruction is excellent, and it has a real encouraging atmosphere. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking to train in the area.
