Ervin Quintin (pronounced kin · TIN) provides instruction in personal security with a physical and psychological toolbox. In combining these attributes, awareness can be refined in not just a holistic fashion, but in a realistic point of view when it comes to self-defense.

While in the initial stages of his training, he looked for many ways to improve. An Aristotelian philosophy was shared to him by his close friend, Rick Blalock, “The highest form of learning is to teach.” It was then he decided to take on the challenge of learning at another level which led to receiving his first instructorship with Frank Cucci. Through this instructorship, he was able to refine his own skills which paved the way to become an active instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto in the Filipino Martial Arts, Jun Fan Gung Fu and Jeet Kune Do concepts. Additionally, he has recently become a student in Sayoc Kali and is currently the leader of the Sayoc Virginia Beach Training Group (SVBTG) with sponsorship under Guro Robert Shin. Also, his time in the Muay Thai community as a certified instructor under Ajarn Chai Sirisuite, has given great insight in the direction and training of each person that he encounters. It is with his great passion and labor of love does he continue with this ever growing art in a way to positively share the lifestyle that martial arts has given to him.

As a second generation Filipino that grew up in America, cultural information and practice was not always available. Ervin Quintin believes that in order to be a well rounded and diversified person, it is important to have culture part of the experience. It can develop another aspect of discipline and respect. So through the martial arts, the culture was experienced and the important questions could be formed in order to learn more about history and its influencial people. This would not just be for Filipinos, but to any who wants to learn and be a part of the community. Witnessing social gatherings that claim to educate its members, Ervin Quintin has made it a point to share education in a form of activity within the martial arts. This education can be used as a key to a legacy that can unlock many doors that can bring generations together.

After more than 15 years of training and teaching, other existing resources has been pulled in to give the I.M.P.A.C.T. program uniqueness. Believing that real strength comes from the core, martial arts is then elevated into greater understanding of the mind, body and spirit. With ever changing routines that constantly challenge the body, true strength and confidence is attained.

I cannot say enough good things about IMPACT. Simo Eloy and Guro Ervin create a welcoming, challenging, and enjoyable environment to increase skills, build connections and friendships, and move towards one’s over-all personal best. I especially like the focus on Filipino martial arts yet the incorporation of other disciplines such as Silat and Muay Thai work with the FMA to help one become a more well-rounded and more educated athlete and practitioner. The school truly functions and cares as a team and a family with Simo and Guro guiding the way with their extensive knowledge, genuine passion, and keen insight. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or new to martial arts (like myself!), IMPACT can wonderfully provide you with an experience that will keep you coming back for more!

I have been involved in martial arts for at least ten years and I am very happy at IMPACT. Both instructors are very knowledgeable and provide excellent instruction.

IMPACT is a great place to have fun, learn, and feel like a warrior without the negative stigmas of a hardcore MMA gym. IMPACT allows its students to feel good about themselves in an environment that promotes family values. With that said, IMPACT is called IMPACT for a reason. You’ll get your workout and will have the chance to practice with TOP level instructors in a “private-style” setting.
