OutFox MMA is the Team Lloyd Irvin Training Center for the Virginia Beach-Hampton Roads, Virginia area. We offer the highest levels of Mixed Martial Arts, Submission Wrestling, Muay Thai Kickboxing and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We have people of all ages, sizes, and skills training here. Whether you are looking for fun, fitness and self-defense, or you are aspiring to be the next UFC fighter, you will benefit from training in our friendly, professional and ego-free environment.

We believe that Mixed Martial Arts is more than a system of punching and kicking, it is a system of thought. Being the fastest or the strongest does not necessarily make you the better fighter. Your true strength is being able to adapt to your opponent and out think him, or OUTFOX him and bend them to your will.

Kru Jose Villarisco began training in various martial arts at the age of 6. He has been trained in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Judo, Shaolin Kempo, Jeet Kun Do, Kung-fu, Karate, Filipino stick fighting and several others. Jose excelled in the martial arts and became a 3 time WKA Muay Thai National Champion and an official “Kru” under Master Toddy. Jose has also trained with many other Muay Thai legends, including Rob Kaman and Master K and has been under the instruction of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World champion, BJJ Hall of Famer, and Team of the Decade-Master Lloyd Irvin Junior.

Jose has been training at Master Lloyd’s gym for the past 8 years and has become the head striking coach and instructor of the Thai Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) classes. With 18+ years experience, Jose has instructed and coached several UFC fighters, including Brandon “The Truth” Vera and TUF season 11 finalist, Kris “Savage” McKray. Jose is also the career long striking coach of UWC World champion and top 10 ranked bantamweight, Mike “The Hulk” Easton. In 2009, he produced the WKA Muay Thai women’s heavyweight World Champion, and in 2010, he produced three National Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts champions. Furthermore, Jose is a high level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) purple belt under Master Lloyd Irvin Jr., and a multiple time Grappler’s Quest and NAGA champion, and a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter.

  1. Gary says:

Great place to train. Kru Jose is top notch. Will not be disappointed!

  2. Danny Ives says:

It’s easy for me to talk about Coach Jose Villarisco. This guy is almost 100% responsible for my success in MMA.

I trained with Coach Jose for 4 years while I lived in Camp Springs, Maryland. At the time he was the head striking coach for Team Lloyd Irvin. I too was coaching for Master Lloyd Irvin, So we worked a lot together.

He helped me a ton with my Muay Thai Kickboxing and overall striking game. He taught me all types of tricks and details that I never knew. The guy knows his stuff, no doubt there.

I heard he moved to VA and opened his own place, I was like man those guys are super lucky!

I got a chance to check out his new academy, OutFox MMA, back in June of 2011 and the students had sick skills. It’s unreal to see what he’s done with normal everyday folks in terms of skills and performance. Oh and in such a short time at that…

Like I said above, you guys in Virginia Beach are lucky to have this dude as a trainer. His teaching ability and skills go unmatched.

    How good is OutFox MMA?

So good I try to send my students down to work with him whenever I can. His attention to detail and caring style of teaching is what really sets him apart from the pack.

Wanna be an awesome fighter? Wanna get in shape? Meet cool cats? GO TO OUTFOX MMA!

I give it two thumbs up….way up!
