At Black Belt USA Tae-Kwon-Do and Battleground MMA in Lakewood, Washington, our goal is that you have fun while improving yourself through discipline of the body and the mind. Through the study of the martial arts you will develop strong moral character, self-confidence, respect, self-esteem, and patience.

Battleground MMA is the premiere MMA school in the Northwest. Learn grappling, submissions, ground positioning, defensive strikes, and take-downs. Various mixed martial arts training – Muay Thai – Ju Jitsu – etc. All ability levels welcome. Competitive opportunities are available – with help in training in all phases of preparation. MMA Instructor Andrew Palmer grew up in Fife, where he was an active wrestler though junior high and high school. He discovered MMA at UFC 54 (Liddell vs. Horn) and has been hooked ever since! Andy met Rocky Burns soon after at a local MMA school and they have trained together for the last 4+ years. During that time Andy has also training in kickboxing, Muay Thai, Brazilliam Ju Jitsu, and wrestling/submission wrestling. Andy believes in mastering the basics and is always eager to help other students with questions about technique. Andrew’s favorite quite is “There is no substitute for hard work”.
