Maves Martial Arts (originally Washington Tae Kwon Do Training Center, Inc.) in Vancouver, Washington, was founded in 1995 to instruct children (4 years and up) and adults in the Martial Arts and Self-Defense. Core values such as Integrity, Respect and Discipline are the building blocks of our program. Today, our Martial Arts program bridges the gap between traditional techniques to the complete Mav-Tec Self-Defense system, using modern Olympic Taekwondo style sparring & Kickboxing, Sport Jiu Jitsu, Hapkido, and the Philippine Martial Arts.

Robert Maves is President, Chief Instructor, and Head Coach of Maves Martial Arts and Maves Self-Defense Technologies (Mav-Tec). Mr. Maves is also a two time National Sparring Champion and currently AAU certified Coach, USA Tae Kwon Do Level 1 Coach, and USA National Team Coach for 2007 World Championship Poomsae Team. He is also the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor for Clark College. One of the three Co-Founders of Horizon Achievement Academy, a regional high performance training organization created for elite athletes competing in National and International competition, also President of the United Taekwondo Fellowship, an organization founded for instructor development.
