In essence we never stop learning, so all practioners are forever white belts! Promotions come from accumulated time on the mat! When a student accumulates 30 days of actual time on the mat they receive one black stripe on their white belt, and are recognized in front of the class. This way the other students know who they can turn to if they have a question, and seniority is established. Thus the spirit of learning from each other! The idea of having an open door policy for people to come, roll, and have a good time without spending a lot of money.
