Looks like NBA champion and future NBA hall of famer Shaquille O’Neal wants a piece of the MMA action once he retires from the NBA. I believe O’Neal has about 1 to 2 good NBA years left on his body, so entering the world of MMA at the young age of 40 shouldn’t be too bad. He should definitely give Randy “The Natural” Couture a call for advice as this was when Couture started his MMA career. Couture went on to be the UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion and a UFC hall of famer. I think Shaq can be a force to be reckoned with (not to mention $$$$ at the gates), but he’s going to need a lot of training before he steps in the octagon. Some people just have that fighting spirit, while others don’t. Last time I saw Shaq get in a scuffle was when he got owned by Brad Miller (Sacramento Kings).

Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O’Neal has already made plans following retirement (whenever that is). O’Neal wants to take on several MMA fighters, including 7-2 Korean fighter Hong Man Choi (see video above).

Choi is 2-2 in his MMA career, which includes a one-sided victory over Jose Canseco and another easy victory over a Japanese TV personality.

Choi was contacted by FanHouse about fighting O’Neal at some point in the future, he simply responded via e-mail, “Yes, if there is a chance.”

Asked whether he believed O’Neal had a chance against him, Choi, kept it simple: “No.”
