Crutchfield’s Tiger Rock Taekwondo Academy in Prattville, Alabama, is built on the solid principles of its tenets: Honor, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Courage, Community, Strength, Humility and Knowledge. The ITA mission is to empower Instructors and students to enrich their personal, artistic, and professional lives through traditional TaeKwonDo training.

While training authentic and highly skilled TaeKwonDo artists, ITA believes the highest purpose of TaeKwonDo education is to prepare students for the responsibilities of citizenship. TaeKwonDo is about real and powerful experiences, resulting in the discovery of innate capabilities and a heightened sense of responsibility. To that end, we encourage our students to use their Martial Arts knowledge to improve our communities through one act of leadership at a time.

We Also offer Jiu-Jitsu and Kid-Jitsu for Children and Adults. Kid-Jitsu Program was developed directly from the instruction of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to provide a safe, tested method of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaching for children. Seeing the need for a program designed specifically for kids, Larry Shealy and Charles Dos Anjos (founders of Kid-Jitsu) created the Kid-Jitsu Certification Program to teach Instructors methods of working with children in an effective manner using proper techniques and positioning.

The Prattville school is managed, owned, and operated by 5th Degree Black Belt Kevin Crutchfield. Mr. Crutchfield has been training in TaeKwonDo since 1993. He is a Certified TaeKwonDo Instructor, Certified ITA X-Treme Instructor, Certified Tactical Short Stick Instructor, Certified Ground Escape Instructor, Certified Basic HanMuDo Instructor, Certified Korean Sword Instructor and ADHD Educator Certified. Throughout Mr. Crutchfield’s 15 years of training, he has competed staying in the top three in all divisions, including extreme forms, traditional forms, and sparring competion.
