Amazonas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, located in Redding, California, offers the finest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction, both gi and no gi training, as well as Mixed Martial Arts. Our premier facility includes 2,000 square feet of mat space, three black belt instructors, heavy bags for Kick Boxing or Muay Thai practice and is conveniently located right behind Burrito Bandito! Our competition team is called Team Tsunami! If you are interested in jiu-jitsu or MMA come by and check us out, we have classes Monday-Friday, and open mat time on Saturday.

Our black belt instructor is Diego Ferreira, three time Amazonas State Champion in Brazil. He is also the 2008 Northern Brazilian Absolute Champion, the three time Oswaldo Alves Tournament champion; first place Maranhao Absolute Division Champion, three time King of The Beach Jiu-Jitsu Champion, and the 2008 World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Bronze Medalist.

Tanner Rice, who won the 2009 Pan American blue belt Gold Medal teaches our children’s class, and he also actively competes at every tournament. Tanner was also the 2008 Blue Belt Open Champion, the 2009 Blue Belt Open Champion at the Pan Ams. In the U.S. Open, he won second place in the open absolute division. He was second place in the Tahoe Classic, the 2008 American Cup Champion and the 2009 American Cup Champion. Tanner won the Bronze medal in the 2009 Worlds.

Black Belt Rod Rice and First Degree Black Belt John Dill also teach classes at Amazonas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Mr. Dill received his black belt from six time Pan Am Gold Medalist James Boran in June of 2000. He trained extensively with Professor Rickson Gracie too, as well as many of the other Gracie brothers. Mr. Rice received his black belt from Mr. Dill in late 2008. Mr. Rice holds the only black belt ever awarded by Mr. Dill.
