Loading...The mission of Capoeira Brasil San Diego is to share the art of Capoeira, and by extension, Brazil’s rich cultural tradition, with the community of San Diego at large. We believe that the harmonious blending of ethnic and cultural diversity found in Brazil can be emulated throughout the world, starting right here in San Diego. Through the art of Capoeira, we offer a unique form of artistic expression that can unite people of all ages and backgrounds. By imparting the knowledge of all aspects of this art, individuals can be empowered to live stronger, healthier lives.
Founded by Mindinho in January of 2002, Capoeira Brasil San Diego (CBSD) consists of our main studio located at Liberty Station in Point Loma, and two satellite studios. Our main studio is currently the only space solely dedicated to Capoeira in all of San Diego County. Known as San Diego’s new flagship destination for arts, culture, science and technology, our Liberty Station neighbors include the San Diego Ballet, Jean Isaacs San Diego Dance Theater, and the newly opening New Americans Museum, as well as numerous non-profit organizations, all making a difference in the community.
In addition to regular classes at our main studio, we work closely with organizations throughout San Diego County to bring the art of Capoeira and the culture of Brazil to the community. We provide after-school programs to schools as far north as Carlsbad and as far south as San Ysidro. Our annual events include the Earth Fair at Balboa Park, San Diego’s Street Scene Music Festival, Camp Castillo and Camp Leon, and of course…Carnival at 4th & B!
From after-school programs to public performances, Capoeira Brasil San Diego offers a fun, positive experience no matter where we are.
