The Gracie Barra Rancho Cucamonga school came to be from a wonderful set situations and great luck. Our school started out as a Krav Maga school of self-defense over five years ago. Krav Maga is taught to over 500 police departments, swat teams and military forces throughout the world. Krav Maga realized that more groundwork was needed for today’s world with Royce Gracie setting the martial arts world up side down when he won multiple UFC titles in the 1990’s. The need to learn an effective ground self defense was evident.

The luck part came about when Richard Timm the operations manager of Krav Maga Rancho Cucamonga went to a Jiu-jitsu tournament in Los Angeles. He witnessed many fantastic practitioners compete but it was a Gracie Barra Black Belt that stood out from all the rest with his composure, seemingly little effort and great technique. Determined to learn this “gentle art” Rich started taking classes in 2006 and about a year later was asked to bring the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program to the Inland Empire by Marcio Feitosa.

We are directly under the care and supervision of Marcio Feitosa and Flavio Almeido. Marcio and Flavio learned jiu-jitsu directly under Carlos Gracie Jr. (the son of the founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu – Carlos Gracie) in Rio de Janero, Brazil and later taught at the official school in Rio de Janero, Brazil. Both Marcio and Flavio are multiple World Champions. While Marcio is the head of Gracie Barra America in South Orange County, Flavio operates Gracie Barra San Juan Capistrano, California.

We at Gracie Barra Rancho Cucamonga are proud to be a part of the Gracie Barra. We invite you to join us. Call and we will invite you to a free class and you too will feel the magic of Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!

No MMA or Muay Thai. Not a Gracie Barra school (owner/instructor takes lessons @ GB) or even “Real” Krav Maga school (you get a certificate from “Empire Martial Arts). Went here for a short while, feels very business-like where they are always trying to come up with something new or changing program/curriculum to get more of your $$$. BEWARE!!!
