At Oceanside Jiu Jitsu in Oceanside, California, our mission is to offer the highest level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Self Defense to the people of North County. Our Style is known as ‘Brazilian Jiu Jitsu’. We are proud members of the Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu Association, created by the Ribeiro Brothers, Saulo and Alexandre. With six Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championship Titles each, their techniques and teaching methods are undeniable.

Oceanside Jiu Jitsu’s Head Instructor is Jeff Gorumba, who began training in 1996 in Seattle, Washington, under Marcelo Alonso, a 4th degree Black Belt under the late Carlson Gracie. Jeff trained under Marcelo until 2005, when he moved to Oceanside. At which time he began training with Marcelo Pereira, who awarded him a Black Belt in 2009.

Jeff has trained with some of the Greatest Jiu Jitsu Fighters in the World including Carlson Gracie, Helio Gracie, Royler, Relson, and Royce Gracie, Saulo and Xande Ribeiro, and Pedro Sauer. Jeff loves the spirit of competition, traveling to Brazil, Canada and throughout the US to train and compete. Jeff has fought in some of the biggest Jiu Jitsu tournaments in the World. Currently, Jeff trains at The University of Jiu Jitsu under Saulo Ribeiro (Six time world champion) and Xande Ribeiro (current World Champion) in order to continue to improve his own skills, as well as those of his students. Jeff has five passions in his life: Spending time with his Family, Training Jiu Jitsu, Shooting, CrossFit and Starbucks Coffee!
