Welcome to San Diego Judo. Established in 1949, we are the oldest martial arts school in San Diego, and offer both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) lessons in our facility, the San Diego Dojo. The San Diego Dojo is a new, clean 3500 sg. ft. training facility with top of the line mats and equipment.  The Dojo has the biggest, softest mat space in the City of San Diego, with 2 spring loaded floors totaling over 1600 sq. ft., including a competition area. Judo is known as the premier martial art for throws and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is widely viewed as the best ground fighting art. With their respective strengths, these phenomenal martial arts provide a complete grappling system and offer great benefits for fitness, self-defense, and sport.

Our San Diego Judo club offers traditional Japanese Judo lessons, beneficial to both competitors and recreational Judokas alike. Our judo school focuses on teaching students proper and skillful techniques instead of relying on just strength and power. Our Judo instruction is rare to find outside of Japan, and is provided by Kodokan trained instructors.

Our brother school is the University of Jiu-Jitsu, run by 6-time World Champion Saulo Ribeiro and his brother Xande Ribeiro, 7-time World Champion, including 2008 Heavyweight and Absolute World Champion. The University of Jiu-Jitsu shares the same facilities as San Diego Judo in the San Diego Dojo building.
