He began his journey in Jiu-Jitsu in 1995 at the Rickson Gracie Academy in West LA. After 4 years of training with Rickson’s team and no longer being able to find the means to travel to West LA he decided to make the move to the Machado side of the family and has remained great friends with the 8th degree Black Belt and Jiu-Jitsu Legend Rigan Machado (now teaching in Brentwood, CA). Nick is an exceptional teacher, with an ability to convey technique and proper form in an easy to learn way that has proven highly effective. Many of his students both past and present have won titles in the World Championships, Pan-American Championships, US Nationals, as well as many local and regional tournaments.

Anyone who has learned from him knows that he is 100% dedicated to his students success and will do anything within his capabilities to ensure students reach their highest potential. He devotes huge amounts of mat time to every student, from the newest to the most experienced to make certain they are learning how to properly execute correct Jiu-Jitsu Technique.

Nick is still an active Jiu-Jitsu competitor and has trained with some of the best fighters on the planet. Recently he was a training partner for BJ Penn for his completely dominant victory over Diego Sanchez. It was through being part of the Penn Training camp t that his knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu and training methodologies completely reformed into what it is today.

As well as being a black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu, Nick is also a protege of world famous athletic trainer Marv Marinovich. His understanding of Jiu-Jitsu combined with the knowledge of proper body dynamics and athletic enhancement training methodologies is sure to change the way you learn and move!
