De Moraes Jiu-Jitsu is an affiliate of the De La Riva Association, and operated by Master Roberto de Moraes, offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts training. Master de Moraes was born in the US to Brazilian parents. He spent much of his childhood in Brazil. When Master Roberto was 11 years old, he moved to Miami, Florida. He is fluent in English, Portugese and Spanish. Master de Moraes was trained at the prestigious Boca De La Riva school in Miami. While at Boca De La Riva, Master Roberto earned his black belt under Master Moacir “Boca” Oliveira and legendary Master Ricardo de la Riva Goded.
Master Ricardo de la Riva Goded is a fifth degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Carlson Gracie, Sr. Master de la Riva Goded was named one of the five best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu players by Gracie magazine and is also created with inventing the De la Riva Guard. His knowledge in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has led to Jiu-Jitsu practitioners and mixed martial artists from all over the world to request his services. Master Moacir “Boca” Oliveira is a champion grappler and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practioner who received his black belt from Master de la Riva Goded.
Master de Moraes himself has an extensive list of jiu-jitsu and grappling championships to his name. In addition to his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training, Master Roberto is also an accomplished kickboxer, mixed martial arts fighter and conditioning coach. He has taught at Boca De La Riva, American Top Team and Bushido Academy.
