Born and raised in the city of Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Shark started training under the legendary Carlson Gracie where he competed for 5 years. After the split, Shark followed his Master (Liborio) to BTT where he trained for 2 years before coming to Florida in May of 2002 to join ATT.
Shark won the World (Mundials) Championship in 2001, and was runner-up in 2000. He was also a Brazilian Champ ’99, and competed in the prestigious Abu Dhabi tournament where he placed 3rd in 2001. Shark received his black belt from Ricardo Liborio in 2002.
