Loading...Valente Brothers Fort Lauderdale was established with the purpose of furthering the reach of our style to the Broward community. Instructor Bruce Belfield achieved his black belt in December 2008, and has been practicing Jiu-Jitsu for over 10 years. In route to becoming an instructor, under the strict criteria of the Valente Brothers, Bruce has spent over three years learning how to transmit Jiu-Jitsu to students and has demonstrated a natural ability to teach.
Before opening VB Fort Lauderdale, Bruce served as a resident instructor at our main location and taught over 100 hours of lessons. Bruce continues to regularly train at our main academy. In addition to his Jiu-Jitsu skills, Bruce has been a police officer since 2001 and is currently a Fort Lauderdale Police Detective, a SWAT Team member and a Defensive Tactics instructor.
