Maui is a special island where many different people mix together. At Maui Jiu Jitsu you can find people who range from surfers to cowboys to executives all coming together to pursue their one common goal of learning Jiu-Jitsu.
If the people make Maui Jiu Jitsu unique, then it’s the location that makes it special. Hawaii is the most isolated island chain in the entire world. Maui is the second largest island in the Hawaiian chain, and has everything Oahu has to offer, but with less of a crowd. Perfect surf breaks, breathtaking sunsets, world-class hiking, year round fishing, and the tropical climate make Maui a destination for locals and tourists alike.
Our Academy is run by five time Pan Am Champion Professor Luis Heredia, a 5th Degree Black Belt under world famous Rickson Gracie. Luis has dedicated a lifetime to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is a very skilled teacher and competitor who has received many awards for his teaching dedication and tournament accomplishments.
As part of the Pedro Sauer Jiu Jitsu Association Maui Jiu Jitsu specializes in Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Street Self-Defense, and No-Gi Training (ground techniques without a Kimono). We offer classes for ages 7-10, 10-14, Juniors 15 and up as well as Adult Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Gi & No-Gi instructional training.
