Robert Riley – Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Trainer (Gi & No Gi)

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor Robert Riley provides Integrated Martial Science students with cutting edge grappling techniques used by the world’s top fighters. Although an avid fan of classic Jiu-Jitsu, Riley specializes in No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu (submission grappling), a style more suited to modern Mixed Martial Arts competition.

He has trained with the former Gracie Barra Carlos Gracie Jr. club at the University of Kansas, Brazilian Top Team of Kansas City and now trains with American Top Team under black-belt professor Renato Tavares and Dustin Denes.

Riley has been competing in Gi and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu since 2003. He most recently won gold medals in both the Gi and No-Gi competitions as a lightweight at the Submission Sport National Championship in Memphis and won a silver medal in No-Gi as a lightweight at the North American Grappling Association Ohio National Championship. Among other accolades, he captured first place in No-Gi as a middleweight at the Topeka Summer Slam Open and has bested his first two MMA opponent in less than a minute and a half each at Caged Combat I in June of 2006 and Rumble at the Ramada III in November of 2006.

Although Riley has compiled the skills and techniques necessary to create the type of well rounded fighters he produces, he readily admits that there are more skilled Jiu-Jitsu practitioners.
