Loading...The Madama Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy opened its doors in September of 2005 in Toms River, New Jersey, under Head Instructor Josh Madama (currently a Brown Belt under Matt and Nick Serra). Josh is a two time NAGA (North American Grappler’s Association) Champion in the Advanced Middleweight Division, and was formerly ranked #1 in the Nation. On January 10, 2009, Josh was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame for Excellant Teaching in the Martial Arts.
Our school contains over 2500 square feet of mat space here for your training needs at Madama Jiu-Jitsu:
* Matted walls
* 8″ thick mat for training throws
* 5 hanging bags including 2 Muay Thai bags, 1 tear drop and 2 heavy bags
* Grappling dummies
* Pull-up bar
* We have a MMA cage running the perimeter of one side of the mats for working against the cage, training takedowns, the clinch, and fighting off the cage
* We have MMA classes for advanced and beginners!
* and so much more!!!
Other small amenities included to help make the most of your training are a water cooler for keeping you hydrated while training, various fruits for getting that much needed energy boost, and shelves and hooks for storing your gear.
Also on-site is all you need for outfitting yourself in Madama Jiu-Jitsu gear to show your support for our school. We have t-shirts, sweatshirts and jiu-jitsu gis/kimonos.
