The goal of Gene Dunn’s Shotokan Karate Dojo is to aid the student in reaching his or her fullest potential via traditional martial arts training. This training includes the discipline and etiquette which are noticeably absent in many of today’s chain schools. Students receive professional and personalized attention from qualified instructors in a clean and modern facility. Two of these instructors are present on the floor for each class. Shihan Dunn continues to be very active in the Martial Arts Arena and is constantly developing and refining the school’s training methods.

Unlike most schools, fees for exams and special classes are included in the monthly tuition, so there are no hidden costs!

The biggest difference you’ll find at this school is the immense personal interest Shihan Dunn has in each of his students. This devotion stems from seeing his lifetime dream of owning and running a successful school realized – and this success can only continue if his students are happy with their training and motivated to move to the next level. Students and their families have come to know each other and this warm environment is conducive to even greater learning and training capacity. Until now there has been no public advertisement for the school; it has grown exponentially since it was founded in 1996 simply by word of mouth.

Good teachers, but they use the Educational Funding Company for their contracts. EFC has an “F” rating from the BBB, and the school requires a 2-year contract with them. I liked going to the school, but I hope they change their billing practices. I would not recommend signing any contract with them.
