As part of the prestigious Team Renzo Gracie, students that choose to train at Rock-Jitsu BJJ Academy have a special and direct connection to the famous Gracie lineage. It is our goal to foster a sense of trust, community and genuine love for Jiu-Jitsu. We teach in a safe, friendly, cooperative and controlled learning environment which fosters fun, camaraderie and respect. Rock-Jitsu BJJ Acadmey is a place to meet friends, not opponents.
In addition to training under the legendary Renzo Gracie at the Renzo Gracie Academy in NYC, our Head Instructor Stewart Carroll has trained extensively under John Danaher, who is regarded as one of the foremost authorities on grappling in the world today. Stewart is a Rockaway Beach native, and a devoted teacher, proud to carry on the Gracie tradition, sharing his knowledge, passion and experience in jiu-jitsu with others. Stewart also trains at the legendary Renzo Gracie Academy in Midtown Manhattan, where he is a brown belt under Masters Renzo Gracie and John Danaher.
