Welcome to The Training Edge located in Williamsville, New York. From our Little Dragons to our Kickboxing adults, America’s Best Defense is a total program of family fun, fitness and self-defense. Come see why over 700 families have made us their choice for getting more kick out of life. For Adults, we offer Muay Thai Kickboxing, Krav Maga/Self Defense and Fitness Kickboxing.

For centuries, millions of people have benefited from the teaching of Martial Arts, a system of self defense invented in the Orient that does not advocate the use of weapons. Instead, a philosophy that believes in strengthening the mind and body through self-discipline, fitness and awareness. At America’s Best Defense, we teach the fundamentals of martial arts by combining the time tested philosophy of martial arts with the modern approach of western teaching strategies. We offer a well-balanced program for adults and children that emphasizes positive mental attitude, self esteem, fitness and integrity.

I am a 53 year old Attorney. I joined the Training Edge four months ago and I am now in the shape that I was when I was 35 years old. The instructors are very knowlegable and enthusiastic. The students include 17 year old high school football players, Correction Officers, constuction workers, police officers, attorneys, housewives, college students and ministers. The facilities are top rated. The instruction is very practical. I know that with the training and conditioning that I have received so far “I can still bring it”.

When I first started going to The Training Edge I thought the instruction was great. Everyone has a good attitude and it’s a very positive environment. However, the classes are ran more like aerobic fitness workouts then actual martial arts classes. A little annoying, but it was still fun.

My main beef with this school is the bait and switch technique they use. When you first join you pay a high monthly fee. Then after being there and enjoying yourself for 3 months, you must then pay an additional $100 a month to continue into the “black belt” program. When I was there the cost of membership and the black belt program together were $200. Sound like too much for an aerobic workout with a little bit of fight training? I thought so too.

Total McDojo. They teach Muay Thai and BJJ now because it’s popular, but the teachers never actually trained or competed in those styles. So… what qualifies them to teach? If you want to spend a LOT of money and put in NO EFFORT for your black belt…. this is the place for you.
