At Royal Tiger Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina, we are dedicated to the highest quality of martial arts training. We are committed to continually enhancing our program to address exercise, drills, safety tips and a realistic approach to self-fitness and self-defense. We offer MMA for all ages only, and a MMA gym that teaches children come work out with us if you want to be physically fit and learn self defense!

We have developed a system of martial arts that is fun and easy to learn. By combing Muay Thai, Tae Kwon-Do, Ju-jitsu, and Judo, we cover everything from starting on your feet to finishing on the ground. Our children’s program has been modified in the Ju-jitsu department. So, instead of learning real Ju-jitsu, they are learning a watered down version, more like wrestling. This way they learn to maneuver on the ground without having to worry about hurting each other with chokes or joint locks. It’s a lot safer for the children and for the parent’s peace of mind.

We aim to “Build Confidence Through Achievement” and provide an environment conducive to positive relationships, fostering self-discipline and self-confidence and self-respect. We also honor Martial Arts traditions that go back centuries, but we are also dynamic and constantly seek new and innovative ways to enthuse and excite our students.

Master Somsak Saykosy founded Royal Tiger Martial Arts Academy in an effort to bring Family Values back into Martial Arts. He has studied various styles (Muay Thai, Tae kwon do, Wing Chun, Judo, Jujitsu, Hapkido, Kung fu, and weapons training) from the age of 7 and now has started his business to give back to the community. Developing a comprehensive program has enabled him to share a combination of the skills he has acquired throughout the years. Master Saykosy has worked hard during his career and has over 25 years of experience. While training in Tae Kwon-Do he was able to earn his black belt in less than 1 year, which is impressive, since it normally takes a student 3 years to earn this high honor. After only 6 months of studying he started teaching other students Tae Kwon-Do. His philosophy regarding martial arts is to be open minded and his teaching styles are modeled after Bruce Lee and Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee (known as the father of US Tae Kwon-Do). Master Saykosy strives to be a positive influence for his students and help them to reach their personal best. He seeks to make Martial Arts training a priceless investment in the life of everyone. Master Saykosy later on enter the MMA world and has two of the fastest fights in MMA.
