I used to be a member at this gym. The gym is very nice! They’ve made alot of improvements as far as the facility in and of itself is concerned. Some of the instructors are fanstastic. But the head instructor and his wife are awful.
They pick favorites, and dont really care for you unless you are one of these favorites, thus lack of personal one on one instruction, all they really care about nothing more than a pay check. When begged to provide personal assistance and instruction, I would get little instruction, if any, and Mike (The owner/head trainer..who has the attention span of a fish) My family ran into a serious crisis with our home, and faced extreme financial trouble, I politely asked Mike if I could put my account with them on hold, and explained the situation. He and his wife were VERY rude, got unnecesserily loud, and cursed, and long story short…their answer to me was “I dont care, sucks to be you, pay us” and when I had went to the gym to pick up some equipment I had payed for, his wife did nothing but curse and get even ruder to me, and said she had already given it to someone else (just to be rude). The Jiu Jitsu instructors there, especially JJ are excellent, but Mike does a horrible job of providing quality customer service to ALL of his members, instead of a select few (being less than a fraction of his entire count of students). Has he changed his ways since my experience? I wouldnt be able to say for sure. I havent been there since, but I had an awful experience with the owner and his wife. I wouldnt recommend this place if someone payed me…

Sorry to hear of your experience although it was far too predictable. Michael is a well known parasite to the community. Every few years he and his wife open a gym only to go out of business then go into hiding. Customer service, or lack there of, shuts them down everytime! The “assistant” trainers are always far more accomplished which is really not very difficult. Hopefully your families financial condition has improved as there are many grat places to train in the area.

Michael has trouble speaking in an acceptable manner and often appears to be under the influence. His wife, Theresa, is morbidly obese. Not sure what qualifies either to train people. Michael will not roll with anyone that has an acceptable skill level. I have seen him do so twice in Dallas and he got steam rolled both times and the guys were going easy on him! He will not do so in his own gym for fear of being exposed. Big fish in a little pond? No just a little pond.
