Loading...Higher Power Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in McKinney, Texas, is a family friendly, Machado black belt academy that is committed to providing world class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction in a positive training environment. We are located at the McKinney Family YMCA. Head Instructor Jeff Sawyer is a Black Belt under Carlos Machado. After earning a brown belt in traditional Jiu Jitsu, Jeff wanted to become more proficient with the ground techniques on which BJJ focuses. He began training with Carlos Machado in 1999.
Originally from Iowa Park, Texas, Jeff served his country in the United States Army from 1986 until the end of Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Jeff enrolled at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated with a BBA in August 1993. After graduation from he started a career as a financial planner that continues today for a major Wall Street Investment firm.
Higher Power Brazillian Jiu Jitsu Academy is located at the McKinney Family YMCA, and all enrollment is currently handled by them as well.
