Emerald City Judo, Inc. in Redmond was founded by Sensei Robert Wittauer in 1999 to give all groups of children the chance to come together and make a difference in the level of Washington state Judo.  There are about eighty members of Emerald City Judo, including the coaching and teaching staff, made up of an awesome blend of many different races and backgrounds, male and female, who work out six days a week.

Each student is not only taught year around at our dojo, many also strive to compete in local, regional, national and international judo tournaments with the hope of not only becoming a national champion but an Olympiad.

Emerald City Judo has become one of the most successful dojos in the Northwest. Our students have claimed many tournament titles during our first six years of existence to include a total of over 30 Washington State Champions, eight Continental Crown Champions and in 2006, a National male silver medalist and two National male bronze medalist. In 2005, a National male silver medalist and two National female bronze medalists. In 2004, a National female gold medalist and National male and female bronze medalists. In 2003, a National male gold medalist, two National female silver medalist and a National male bronze medalist. In 2002, a National male silver medalist and in 2001, a National female bronze medalist. Many of our youths are ranked point players at the National level.
