Moody’s MMA/Columbia Caged Combat is owned by David and Kay Moody. David (Moody as every calls him) became interested in MMA when everyone else did, during the “Golden Age” of MMA the Royce Gracie years of the ultimate fighting championship. After becoming enamored by Royce’s brutally graceful moves he decided that MMA had its place in his and his wife, Kay’s heart. The only problem was there were no avenues for MMA in small town America at that time. MMA wouldn’t come a household word for some time after that.
