Goes Martial Arts is a fitness center focused on improving a person’s well-being. Our goal is to have everybody maintain strong minds, healthy bodies and develop lively souls.

Allan Goes started practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 7 in Rio de Janeiro, with his grandfather Alcides Goes, Judo Master. When he was 12 he was taken to the Carlson Gracie Team and fell in love with the sport embracing Jiu-Jitsu as a profession, totally dedicating himself to the “Smooth Art”.

At the age of 18, he got his black belt from the hands of Carlson Gracie. At 19, after more than 200 Jiu-Jitsu fights and only one loss, and achieving World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion 8 times he then moved to USA to become a professional MMA Fighter. In the year of 2000 with his old team partners, he created a new Team, called Brazilian Top Team. Allan Goes did more than 30 professional fights and he is also a Pancrase, UFC and PRIDE Veteran, and made his come back debut on the IFL on September, 9th, 2006.

Today, Black Belt Master 5 th Dan, Allan Goes is known as one of the most technical fighters and has created his own system to teach Jiu-Jitsu. Allan teaches at his Gym, Allan Goes Martial Arts, in Mission Viejo, and has representatives of his system around USA and gives seminars throughout the world.

I started training here a little over a year ago. Both Gi Jiu-jitsu and No-Gi/Submission Grappling is available as well as MMA, Kickboxing, and Cardio-Kickboxing classes. Classes are available both mornings and evenings, 6 days-a-week. Kids classes are available M-Th in the afternoon. All classes with the exception of the Friday morning class (as of the date of this review) are taught by Master Allan Goes (6th Degree Black Belt, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu), who was one of the late Master Carlson Gracie’s top students as well as being a UFC, Pride, Extreme Fighting, and IFL veteran. The Friday morning class is taught by Master Jim Casas, a black belt under Master Allan.

Master Goes is an excellent instructor. I have trained at other MMA/jiu-jitsu schools before coming here and Goes Martial Arts is by far the best. I began training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu about 10 years and still learn new things. How is this possible? Master Allan shows little details others neglect, which you can only really appreciate after training as long as I have. Everyone in the academy is very helpful and respectful and you won’t have to worry about any meatheads trying to prove how tough they are (it wouldn’t be much of a problem for me since I’ve trained for awhile but can see how newer students wouldn’t take too kindly to it). I couldn’t be happier.
